On 15 February 1990 he entered the diplomatic service following a competitive examination.<br \/>\nAfter a first assignment at the Ministry&#8217;s Directorate General for Development Cooperation, where he was in charge of Asia, in 1992 he took on the role of Second Commercial Secretary in Luanda (Angola).<br \/>\nIn 1996 he was appointed director of the Italian Consulate in Brisbane, Australia.<br \/>\nIn 2000 he returned to Rome to deal with space and information technologies at the Ministry&#8217;s Directorate General for Multilateral Economic and Financial Cooperation.<br \/>\nIn 2003 he was appointed Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations in New York.<br \/>\nIn 2008 he was assigned to the Italian Embassy in Brasilia, where he served as First Commercial Counsellor and then Deputy Head of Mission.<br \/>\nIn 2011 he returned to Rome to take up service at the Directorate-General for Resources and Innovation, first as Head of Office II, then as Deputy to the Central Director for Human Resources.<br \/>\nSince 2014 he has been Head of the Coordination Unit of the General Secretariat of the Ministry.<br \/>\nIn 2018 he was appointed Ambassador in Hanoi (Vietnam).<br \/>\nIn 2023 he was appointed Ambassador of Italy to the People&#8217;s Republic of Bangladesh, where he took office on 7 August.<br \/>\nHe is married and has three children.<br \/>\nHe speaks English, French and Portuguese.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Curriculum vitae Born in Rome on 13 February 1963, he graduated in Political Science from the University of Rome in 1988.
