Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi’s visit to Bangladesh concluded yesterday, May 6.
The Minister met with his counterpart, Home Affairs Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, as well as Foreign Affairs Adviser Md. Touhid Hossaid, and Adviser for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Asif Nazrul. The Minister also met with Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus for a courtesy call.
With the Adviser for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment, Minister Piantedosi signed an Inter-Ministerial Memorandum of Understanding on Migration and Mobility, which will boost legal migration, cooperation in migration management – including the repatriation of irregular migrants – prevention and countering of all forms of illegal migration, exploitation, and human trafficking, strengthening the exchange of information between the respective Police Forces.
A joint communiqué was adopted at the end of the visit.
