Curriculum vitae

Born in Rome on 13 February 1963, he graduated in Political Science from the University of Rome in 1988. On 15 February 1990 he entered the diplomatic service following a competitive examination.
After a first assignment at the Ministry’s Directorate General for Development Cooperation, where he was in charge of Asia, in 1992 he took on the role of Second Commercial Secretary in Luanda (Angola).
In 1996 he was appointed director of the Italian Consulate in Brisbane, Australia.
In 2000 he returned to Rome to deal with space and information technologies at the Ministry’s Directorate General for Multilateral Economic and Financial Cooperation.
In 2003 he was appointed Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations in New York.
In 2008 he was assigned to the Italian Embassy in Brasilia, where he served as First Commercial Counsellor and then Deputy Head of Mission.
In 2011 he returned to Rome to take up service at the Directorate-General for Resources and Innovation, first as Head of Office II, then as Deputy to the Central Director for Human Resources.
Since 2014 he has been Head of the Coordination Unit of the General Secretariat of the Ministry.
In 2018 he was appointed Ambassador in Hanoi (Vietnam).
In 2023 he was appointed Ambassador of Italy to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, where he took office on 7 August.
He is married and has three children.
He speaks English, French and Portuguese.
